Details This 'X' certificate British Quad film poster carries wonderful framed artwork and the best by far for this important anti-war film. The film was directed by Richard Lester, 3 years after "A Hard Days Night" with John Lennon taking a break from the Beatles to take the part of Private Gripweed. He is pictured here on the helmet accompanied by Michael Crawford who gives a great performance as the head of the special cricket pitch unit. The film is surreal in parts combined with slapstick to raise awareness of the folly of war - an important message which John Lennon carried through his life in support of the peace movement. Printed in England by Lonsdale & Bartholomew of Nottingham.
