| Details | Extremely rare British half sheet film poster from the year 1955 billing James Dean as "The Most Dynamic Star Discovery of the Year!" This was James Deans first starring role and this almost impossible poster to find has great colours and is an iconic piece of cinema history. Featuring the 1950's Warner Brothers logo and the claret and blue "WarnerColor". This is the earliest British film poster on this title that you will ever see as it includes the idlest Warner Bros logo and no mention of CinemaScope This one is a real find. As you would expect for a poster format size which was discontinued in 1960 this one has survived but with wear and tear. These include the most obvious being a 5 inch closed tear and a 4 inch horizontal closed tear on the fold line both on the left hand side and a number of other smaller tears on the border fold lines at the bottom all of which we have repaired with PH7 conservation tape. Small rust marks are present where the poster was historically displayed with drawing pins at the corners and there is small paper loss at the corners most obviously at the lower right corner. The poster displays well and the colours are really good. |
