| Details | This interesting 1959 film poster "Room 43" had been released in England the previous year a "Passport to Shame" and was very much an X certificate having been passed by the BBFC reluctantly under the guise of "awful warnings" which then allowed film makers to tackle subjects like prostitution. Here we have the ladies of the night including the British actress Diana Dors posing by the obligatory street lamp. Interestingly there are a number of American press clippings talking about the problem of prostitution. Small paperloss at the top, bottom and right corners and a strip of archival restoration tape to the reverse where there is a closed tear at the top centre. |
