Details | Impressive 1958 first release 20th Century Fox CinemaScope film poster "Harry Black and the Tiger" shot on location in India. The British artist Tom Chantrell was entrusted with providing the artwork and he has concentrated on a large painting of the man-eating Bengal tiger that is terrorising the Indian village. Once the artist has caught our attention he then goes on to paint superb portraits of Stewart Granger the one-legged hunter, Barbara Rush and her husband Anthony Steel whose cowardice in the war caused the crippling injury of the hunter. The film poster has an Indian feel complete with the Indian elephants and the hunting scene. Printed in England by Stafford & Co. of Netherfield, Nottingham and London this is a superb rolled example of the film poster taken from the printers before succumbing to the folding machine at the end of the run. Incredible colours and no pinholes. |
