| Details | Amazing full colour British quad film poster from 1956 for the United Artists CinemaScope film "Trapeze". Painted on the Trapeze is Burt Lancaster who was an acrobat before he became a film actor. The high flying actress in his grasp on the trapeze is the beautiful Gina Lollobrigida with Tony Curtis the pupil climbing the ladder. This classy film was filmed at the Cirque d'Hiver in Paris and directed by Carol Reed whose photography in the big top was amazing with the help of cinematographer Robert Krasker. The colours on the film poster are very bright with printing by the Haycock Press of London. We purchased this cinema poster directly from a cinema owner in Malta where the film was shown and it has a Malta board of film censors circular stamp at the lower right. The film poster has 2 large closed tears - one at the bottom right and one at the mid-left. There are brown tape reinforcements to the reverse. This is a historic piece of cinema history which displays really well despite the faults. |
