| Details | This British Quad film poster from 1954 features in the background the snowy gold rush territory painted in a watercolour wash. The figure of James Stewart stands out prominently as does the fine calligraphy work in the title "The Far Country". The tagline refers to the successful "Glenn Miller Story" which had been made the previous year. Printing is by Charles & Read Ltd. of London & Harlow (although please note the start of the printers name is missing) and the poster is linen backed and ready for framing. The printed signature of the artist Kirby appears on the film poster under James Stewart's right foot. |
