Condition of Posters

Every poster is unique and has a character that is reflected in the physical condition. Remember these are original cinema used posters. - they have survived a number of years and they bear the physical evidence of their life experience. Nearly all posters have folds due to the folding machine which lay at the end of the printing process run.

Most of these film posters were displayed in the cinema using either sellotape, drawing pins, blu tack or velcro and although we do our best to highlight these on the poster listing. There may be posters where some of these factors are evident in the photo and not described.

Cinema Managers were often issued with the film in a tin together with two or three folded posters on top which the cinema manager would often write the film title on the reverse as the posters were saved for storage in case of further showings of the film. Posters therefore may have writing on the back of them which is not mentioned on the sales listing.

We store our used cinema posters either in acid free browsers, architect drawer plan-chests, folded in boxes or in poster tubes depending on the best method of storage for each individual poster. Where there are closed tears on a poster we repair with acid free archival quality restoration tape applied neatly to the reverse. All posters are stored in dry rooms out of direct sunlight and in a heat sensitive environment.

We categorise our film posters as Grades A, B or C with A being the best condition, B the next best and C the posters in the lowest grade. In addition to the photo each poster in each grade has a description which includes any obvious faults. We try to include details such as pinholes but this is not always the case so if condition is likely to be an issue for you we would recommend always asking for a condition report on each poster before paying and ordering as every poster is individual with a different condition as it is a second hand item and has had a life.

We are always happy to provide a free of charge 'Certificate of Authenticity' with any purchase but this must be requested at the time of order.

Every item for sale is priced according to the condition of the item. The photograph on the website is always of the actual poster for sale (it is not to scale).

We reserve the right to cancel any orders placed that we consider to have been incorrectly priced or the wrong image or not available. Refunds will be given for orders that are cancelled because of these reasons.
